Notes to Parents
Please refer to the syllabi for the various classes for
my rules and expectations for each group, as well as the dates and times for
football games, off-campus gigs, and concerts.
This page is for your information. It will contain the items that I bring to
your child’s attention during class time that they may not relay to you, but
they should! Please feel free to
contact me via e-mail or phone if you have any questions, concerns or ideas for
our wonderful instrumental program.
Friday,
November 21st:
Baker University Jazz Festival –
Gold Jazz Ensemble. We have the bus. We will leave at 7:00 a.m. Chuck and Ann Hughes, and Kelli Legleiter
have all volunteered to accompany the band that morning. If you would like to attend and help
chaperone, please let me, or Ann Hughes know soon.
Football Sub-State at Andale –
Wildcat Spirit Marching Band and Drum Line.
We have the bus, and one van. I
need parents who are willing to ride on the bus with me, and to drive the van
and/or their own private vehicles. My
husband is driving our truck, and pulling the trailer for equipment. I would like at least two other adults in the
bus with me, one adult to drive the van, and at least two other drivers to
accompany us. If you can help, please
let me or Ann Hughes know soon.
This is the
list of students who are excused from this football game: Alex Kaberline, Nathan Purcell, and Claire
Killion. If you and your child have a
conflict with this event, please let me know immediately. Thank you.
Many thanks
to Dale Kirmer for volunteering to drive the bus all day for us, and to the
ones behind the music, the Band Booster Club, for organizing volunteers and
meals for the kids. You are a blessing
to me!
May God
bless you abundantly!!

Strange Request – Do you know of anyone who has a current Ks CDL and is
available to drive the instrumental students to various events during the
school year and the summer? We have a
bus, but I usually have a hard time finding a driver. Just thought I’d ask!
PACE hours opportunities:
¯ I always
need parents to help out with set-up and tear down for football and basketball
games, concerts and gigs. I also am in
need of parents willing to drive students and equipment to our various
off-campus events.
¯ If you
are interested in any of the above, or have ideas, please contact me via e-mail
and leave your name and way to contact you.
Thank you in advance!
For all home football and basketball games that the
Wildcat Spirit Band plays for, your student will need to report to the band room
first at the designated time. We
will say a prayer together, and then head out to set-up. Your child must stay after the games to tear
down, and make sure all the equipment is put away to my approval. Your child must check out with me before
leaving.
The same holds true for all concerts and off-campus
events. We meet, we pray, we set-up, we
play, we tear down, we meet one more time before leaving.
We are a family, and we do this all together!
