As of the end of May, 2001, the outside building construction was near an end. The interior had much left to be done. By the end of July, there was some concern whether it would be done in time for the start of the new school year. The general contractor said yes, but he wasn't sure of an exact date, and the janitors would still have to clean the rooms and move in desks and other materials to make them ready for students and teachers. |
Construction was completed in late August 2001, just days after the start of
school. The library and office suite were totally redone and expanded. And 3
new classrooms were added with all the others in the main building refurbished.
For the first time, the main building had air-conditioning! No more heat days!
The rest of the school year was rather routine with no construction to interrupt
classes.
The Catwalk became the Catbowl.
